The Little Hideaway

This is my little hideaway. It's little, and hidden away.

Give it a read. IT'S PROBABLY WORTH IT.

Because you never know, I might be writing all sorts of stuff about you.

In a good mood :]

So today I started work at Queens Road Baptist Cafe with Scott - we were in the kitchens peeling potatoes and carrots. Wouldn't say it was the highlight of my life but it wasn't as bad as I expected hehe.

Something that really brightened my day, though, was how many volunteers there were out and about. There was a Cov Uni Open Day so there were lots of people in bright blue shirts trying to make the city look as good as possible. People were handing out balloons and there were lots of young people about. There was a lot more people who were sort of just wandering about and enjoying the day, rather than rushing around and being in town for a specific reason. Was handed a leaflet about Christianity and was in such a good mood that I took it with a smile and didn't drop it into the bin until I was almost halfway home. Also, was stopped by a Scope person, who mistook me for an 18 year old (which is always nice) and complimented my earrings (kudos to Hannah who bought them)

Soon after I arrived home, John left the house meaning that I had the house to myself. This means that I could run around and sing badly without anyone telling me to shut up (luckily our neighbours are too polite to complain lol)

And now I am settling down to read "Sister land" by Linda Newberry, which I've been meaning to read for a while :)

EDIT: (later) Have made flapjack, read half a book, and washed up. Feel like a bit of a housewife... ah well, it doesn't happen often enough for me to get worried yet.
